Kids love bugs. So, you can expect at least one show featuring insects every few years, but you might not expect a music tie-in. Beat Bugs went even further and gave us some old-time nostalgia with the Beatles. So, it’s no wonder that it had a soundtrack release as well.
Mercury Records released the “Beat Bugs Best of Seasons 1 and 2” soundtrack album on November 4, 2016, featuring the most popular music from the first two seasons of the show. They also released the first season separately, as well as the third season.
Dedicated to toddlers, the Netflix animated musical is not for everyone, but it has its charm. Therefore, you should keep reading to learn more about it.
The Best Beat Bugs Soundrack in One Collection
While most cartoons use modern pop music, shows for preschoolers tend towards much older fare for their music cues. So, it’s no surprise that Netflix rented some Beatles music for the 2016 animated musical comedy Beat Bugs.
One of two musical acts they released that year, Netflix made Beat Bugs to “extend the current golden age of television“ into children’s programming. While it didn’t begin a trend, the show was popular enough to have soundtrack albums.

The Netflix Original Beat Bugs Animated Series
Beat Bugs is not the first time Beatles music was used as the basis for a cartoon, but it feels strange that Netflix used it. However, the series was successful enough to warrant their decision.
The Netflix original series follows five charming and funny child-like bugs who live in an overgrown American backyard. From the mind of Josh Wakely, the series features Beatles songs, such as “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Help!”, performed by the bugs.
The series premiered on August 3 and ran for three seasons. You can watch the trailer below or watch the show on Netflix.
