WaterTower recently released the Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 1 and 2 Soundtrack. Moreover, the 39-track album features selections from Matthew Janszen’s original score, along with a few songs.

WaterTower Released the Adventure Time Side Quests Soundtrack for Seasons 1 & 2
All things considered, every adventure has side quests, and Adventure Time is no different. In other words, we have a brand-new Adventure Time series to enjoy. It’s also called Adventure Time: Side Quests, and launched on Hulu and Disney+ on October 5, 2026.
A new Adventure Time also means we have a new Adventure Time soundtrack. And Cartoon Network is so confident in the series that they titled the album “Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 1 & 2 Soundtrack.”
That, of course, means that they’re planning future seasons for the show. However, until we can get to them, we must talk about the current album.
Now that said, Cartoon Network released the soundtrack album digitally through WaterTower Music a few days before the series launched, on October 2. And as you might have expected, the album features music from the show’s first two seasons.
But the 39-track album includes only some of the original scores by composer Matthew Janszen. Instead, it uses songs to fill out the playlist, including several renditions of the opening theme.
My Review of the Adventure Time Side Quests Soundtrack
Musically, the Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 1 & 2 Soundtrack is generally what you’d expect from an Adventure Time Soundtrack. In other words, it is playful, epic, adventurous, and loud. The album basically knows it’s Adventure Time, and revels in it.
However, I wish we had more of the score. Sure, the theme song is great, but we don’t need five versions of it on the same album.
The album also leans into its Adventure Time identity a little too much at times. Adventure Time fans will likely eat it up since it’s perfectly tailored to them. But the Side Quests album is likely to grow old quickly for the rest of us. That’s because it doesn’t really work as a standalone album.
Now that said, you should definitely get it if you love the franchise. It’s basically more of the music you already love.
All About Adventure Time Side Quests
As for the Adventure Time: Side Quests series itself, Nate Cash developed it for Cartoon Network back on June 26, 2026. The series also stars:
- John DiMaggio as Jake the Dog
- Sasha Knight as Finn the Human
- Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum
- Tom Kenny as Ice King
- Olivia Olson as Marceline
- Niki Yang as BMO
These are, of course, only a few of the returning cast and crew reprising their roles for the series.
The series generally follows Finn and his magical dog Jake as they adventure across the fantastical Land of Ooo. However, unlike the original series, Side Quests tracks them while they were young and just starting out, with a special focus on their growing friendship.
As I have said, the series premiered in June 2026. It’s also currently in its second season, which began October 2. Additionally, you can stream the episodes as they drop on Hulu or Disney+. Otherwise, you can watch them as they air on Cartoon Network.

Final Thoughts
Overall, the Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 1 & 2 Soundtrack isn’t that bad for what it is. But it could have been much more. It’s still an enjoyable album for its niche audience of Adventure Time fans and kids. So, if that includes you, feel free to add these Side Quests to your playlist.
However, that’s just my take. But what’s yours? Post your thoughts in the comments below.
