Dynamic Soundtrack Records basically launched its Batman Beyond Soundtrack collection in 2023 with the release of Batman Beyond Volume 1. This first album features a surprisingly impressive 95 tracks from the show’s original score.

Dynamic Soundtrack Finally Released Batman Beyond Volume 1 Album After 20 Years.
The release of Batman Beyond Volume 4 reminded me that I still didn’t create reviews of the previous volumes. Sure, I made a post about the collection as a whole, but I didn’t do one for the individual volumes. So, here we are.
Batman Beyond Volume 1 is, of course, the first soundtrack album in the collection. Dynamic Soundtrack Records basically released it on December 8, 2023, with much fanfare.
The album generally covers the original score created by Dynamic Music Partners for the first half of the show’s first season. It also lists these 95 cues in chronological order by episode. So, you can easily break up the playlist if you only want the music from a particular episode.
However, Dynamic Soundtrack only released the album digitally. Hopefully, the can give us a physical version of the album after they finally released the entire collection.
In Brief, Dynamic Music Partners Created Batman Beyond Volume 1
If you’re new to Batman Beyond, it was an animated spinoff and sequel to Batman: The Animated Series. It generally ran for three seasons from 1999 to 2001, showcasing what happens when Bruce Wayne can no longer be Batman.
Because of this, it followed Terry McGinnis, a teenage delinquent living in a future Gotham. McGinnis, of course, because the next Batman after an encounter with an aging Bruce. Besides Terry and Bruce, the show also introduced several new characters to the Batman mythos.
Additionally, the late Shirley Walker wrote the music for the series, with help from Dynamic Music Partners. The Dynamic Music Partners are basically her former students: Kristopher Carter, Michael McCuistion, and Lolita Ritmanis.
The trio has been slowly releasing their entire DC Animated Universe discography generally for the past decade, including the Teen Titans and the Justice League. It also includes the Batman Beyond Soundtrack, which began with Batman Beyond Volume 1 back in 2023.
Finally, A Simple Review of Batman Beyond Volume 1
As you can imagine, Batman Beyond Volume 1 basically starts from the beginning. Because of this, it’s generally the weakest volume among the collection. It’s not bad per se, all things considered. However, you can tell that they were still trying to define what the Batman Beyond soundtrack would be.
However, even at its worst, the Batman Beyond soundtrack is still a great listen. It’s basically late 1990s industrial rock. So, it can be an acquired taste. But it’s definitely good, quality music if you’re into that thing. And that alone makes Volume 1 a great album to have even if you never watched the show.
Therefore, you should at least give it a try. It’s basically pure score. So, you can play it any time for any reason. But it’s best played when you need a dose of superhero energy to get you through your day.

So, Where to Listen
Final Overall Thoughts on Batman Beyond Volume 1
Overall, Batman Beyond Volume 1 is a good start to the soundtrack collection. It basically shows they already had the general concept for the soundtrack early on. However, it doesn’t have the polish of the later volumes. But I can’t hold that against it. Plus, those defections generally grow on you. So, you’re left with a great album for every superhero occassion.
