On June 25, 2026, Walt Disney released Volume One from their Dragon Striker Soundtrack. The 18-track album features the vocal tracks and the original score from the Disney XD magical sports anime.
Keep reading to learn more about the album and where you can find it.
Walt Disney Released the First Volume of the Dragon Striker Soundtrack
The world of sports anime has been Disneyfied! That’s because Walt Disney recently released Dragon Striker, a soccer-focused animated series, on their Disney XD channel. And to celebrate the occasion, they also dropped the Dragon Striker Soundtrack Volume One album.
The 18-track album features about 37 minutes of music from the show, including all songs and Kevin Penkin’s original score from the show’s current season. For instance, it includes the show’s main title song, Power of the Dragon, and the end credits song, The Very End.
Furthermore, Disney released all 18 tracks digitally. So, you should be able to find the album on your favorite music app. Otherwise, you can check my collector’s guide below for suggestions.
There’s Also a Music Video
In addition to the soundtrack album, Disney released a music video for “Power of the Dragon“. Consequently, this video also serves as a trailer for the show, which currently airs on Disney XD and streams on Disney+ and Hulu. Either way, I have attached it below for your convenience.
What Is Disney’s Dragon Strike?
As I said above, Disney’s Dragon Striker is an anime-inspired, animated sports fantasy adventure series that stars:
- Akshay Kumar
- Rebecca LaChance
- Waylon Jacobs
- Yeukayi Ushe
- Evanna Lynch
Set in a world where “sports and magic intersect”, the show follows a farm boy named Key, who discovers that he’s the legendary Dragon Striker. In other words, he’s destined to dominate the world’s hyper-realistic, magical version of soccer.
The series premiered on June 9, 2026, on Disney XD, with all 11 episodes airing as a marathon. However, you can still watch it on Disney+ and Hulu.
The Dragon Striker Soundtrack: A Massive Cross-Cultural Creative Undertaking
Now, when the show was first announced, one of the more exciting details was how ambitious the Dragon Striker Soundtrack was.
For instance, Walt Disney hired acclaimed composer Kevin Penkin to write the show’s original score. Moreover, he decided to record it live, in Japan, with an 80-piece orchestra. That’s a cinematic statement, and one you rarely see in television animation.
Then, there are the original songs, most of which we already knew existed before the first episode even aired, such as:
- “Power of the Dragon” – theme song by Cash Callaway and performed by Sarah West
- “The Very End” – end credits song from singer-songwriter Kieran Rhodes.
Together with the score, these songs made it clear that Disney wanted the Dragon Striker Soundtrack to have a layered musical approach. In other words, they aren’t treating the soundtrack as an afterthought. Instead, it’s a part of their overall strategy for the show.
So, Does the Dragon Striker Soundtrack Meet the Expectations?
However, none of it would matter if the Dragon Striker Soundtrack didn’t hit the mark. Luckily, it does, sounding like a mix of old Saturday morning cartoons and anime.
For instance, it starts off strong with the theme song. Power of the Dragon goes hard with the pop-rock, presenting itself like a typical anime opener. It’s short, though. It’s only a minute long, but it covers a lot in that minute. The lyrics are also simple, but you expect that from a kids’ show.
As for the score, it’s a mix of instrumentals and chants. It’s also intense. It starts loud and stays loud, creating a sense of adventure and intrigue with every note. And throughout it all, you can hear that orchestra quality. It’s so good that sometimes you forget that it’s from a sports anime. However, that just makes you want to see the show even more.
Overall, it’s definitely a great soundtrack. And as such, it’s perfect for any music collection, regardless of whether you’re a Disney fan or just a lover of TV music.
