While there are a few gems, most Christian films and soundtracks fall short, thereby weakening their message. So, you might be skeptical about the upcoming animated musical David. However, the hype surrounding the David movie soundtrack is promising.

Angel and Fair-Trade Services released the David movie soundtrack on November 7, 2025, a month before the film’s theatrical release on December 19. The album features twelve original songs from the film, including the score.

Critics praise the soundtrack for its emotional depth and versatility, but does it live up to those expectations? Please keep reading to find out.

Biblical Story Gets Animated with the David Soundtrack and Musical

Biblical stories offer compelling narratives and messages that hold in any age or culture, giving rise to numerous adaptations and homages.

David is one such adaptation. The upcoming animated musical adapts the story of David and Goliath, following the would-be king’s ascent to the throne. Along the way, he learns the limits of faith, courage, and love.

Such an epic tale needs no introduction. However, Angel Studios released a teaser trailer for the film’s upcoming theatrical release on December 19, 2025.

They also released the soundtrack on November 7, 2025, to allow music lovers “to connect with the story’s emotional core” first. You’ll find it on most digital music stores, distributed through Fair Trade Music Services.

My Review of the Soundtrack

Per Angel’s request, I listened to the soundtrack before watching the trailer.

The first track, “Adventure Song”, starts rough. It’s incredibly off-key and jarring. However, the song’s quality quickly improves once it reaches the first pre-chorus. After that, Brandon Engman hits his stride, creating an audio masterpiece.

The rest of the soundtrack continues the showtune vibe, switching between extended musical suites and operatic sounds. It also switches between English and Hebrew. The producers stated that they were striving for a Disney-like quality, and I think they succeeded.

Overall, the David movie soundtrack does a good job of telling the story without the visuals. Its uplifting and inspiring sound would fit in most situations, especially if you like musicals.

As such, I thoroughly recommend the David movie soundtrack. It should fit nicely among other musical soundtracks. It doesn’t come off as preachy, serving as an excellent retelling of the biblical tale.
