Animation soundtracks hitting the Billboard charts are a rare sight. Finding them at the top is even more surprising. But it does happen, and when it does, it is a moment for celebration. Such is the case for KPop Demon Hunters.
The soundtrack for the Netflix animated feature, KPop Demon Hunters, landed on multiple charts, including Best Soundtrack and Best Song, with the track “Golden”. To celebrate, Netflix is hosting a live theatrical concert featuring the show’s music.
Celebrations like this one do not come around often. If you want to get in on the action, keep reading to learn how to score tickets to the live event.
KPop Demon Hunters Tops Music Charts
While most animation fans pay little attention to mainstream media, it is nice when they mention something we love. That is the case for fans of Sony Pictures Animation’s KPop Demon Hunters. The movie is already one of Netflix’s more popular offerings, but now fans can enjoy its music in the limelight.
Produced by Universal Music Group’s Republic Records and Visva, the soundtrack remains steady with six tracks among the top 10 on Billboard’s and Spotify’s Top 100 charts.
This includes both the domestic and international lists with no signs of stopping. The soundtrack is the most successful album among a sea of stagnant hits that have remained on the chart for months.
KPop Demon Hunters’ “Golden” at Number One
On top of the lists, the breakout hit “Golden” stands alone. Performed by the fictional group Huntr/x, “Golden” debuted in early July at 81, but steadily rose to Number One since then. In doing so, it dethroned Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” which held the spot for 10 weeks.
Other ranking track include:
- 1st – “Golden” by Huntr/x
- 2nd – “Your Ido” by Saja Boys
- 4th – “Soda Pop” by Saja Boys
- 5th – “How It’s Done” by Huntr/x
- 8th – “What It Sounds Like” by Huntr/x
- 10th – “Takedown” by Huntr/x
KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along Event Coming
Reaching the top is a cause for celebration. As such, Sony, Netflix, Records, and Visva are seeking ways to capitalize on their success through a series of pop-up events. Their first offer is a special KPop Demon Hunters sing-along theatrical event, scheduled to come to select theaters on August 23rd and 24th, 2025. Fandango will handle ticket sales and distribution.
Netflix noted that the event will work like other musical re-releases, such as Wicked. It will allow fans to sing along with their favorite tracks from the film in unison.
Netflix Announces Sequel
Along with the sing-along event, Sony and Netflix announced that they are working on a sequel to KPop Demon Hunters. This new animated feature will follow Huntress, a character from the first film. Stay tuned to Toon Radio for more details as they drop.
