On December 6, 2024, Dynamic Soundtrack Records finally released a Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 album 18 years after the series ended. Moreover, they included all 98 tracks of the Season 1 original score.

So, Dynamic Soundtrack Released Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 in 2024

Occasionally, good things come to those who wait, and we DC Animated Universe (DCAU) fans had to wait. A whole two decades, in fact. That’s because it took that long before we’ve finally had a soundtrack release for Justice League Unlimited.

That’s basically how long it took for series composers Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis, and Kristopher Carter (collectively the Dynamic Music Partners) decided to solve that oversight. So now, we can all enjoy the delightful superhero sounds of the Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1.

Released under their private label, Dynamic Soundtrack Records, the album basically features the entire Season 1 original score. Yes, all 98 tracks of it! Altogether, that’s over three hours of music! Moreover, they released it on December 6, 2024, half a year before the previous series’ soundtrack.

Additionally, they included the show’s main opening theme on the album. That’s the same theme that basically won McCuistion his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

So now, we no longer need to use questionable sources to listen to the tracks. That’s because you can find them on most digital music platforms, including the ones I mention in my collector’s guide below.

The Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 Album Has Basically Everything.

According to the composers themselves, this Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 album is the most comprehensive collection of Justice League (JL) music to date.

That’s because it doesn’t just feature the show’s epic, symphonic original score. It also includes all of the special, standalone “source music” tracks as well. In other words, it has the same music our heroes were listening to while we watched them. How surprisingly sweet is that?

And now, I finally can say that I can agree with their assessment that this music would and does “appeal to both JL fans and soundtrack collectors alike.” I can say that because I count as both.

That is to say, the Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack does indeed have some epic sounding music. The series picked up where the previous JL series left off and then took it to the stratosphere.

Musically, it’s generally wholly adventurous and huge, with big, epic guitar solos everywhere. However, it does go slow when it needs to as well. Thus, you get the whole package of great superhero music. In other words, the soundtrack has everything you expect from a show about these icons of comics and American literature.

Furthermore, everything’s been updated and remastered. So, you get to hear the music as it was intended, and that’s always a benefit of a soundtrack release like this.

Finally, Justice League Unlimited Details for Newbies

However, there’s one more thing I must cover before we get to the soundtrack collector’s guide: the show itself.

While the Justice League show needed no introduction, the Justice League Unlimited animated series is something else entirely. Sure, it focuses on those same characters, but it took the universe to a larger and grander scale.

That’s because every DC character was a play, no matter how small or obscure. Therefore, you never knew who you would get to see every time you watched the show, which ran on Cartoon Network from July 31, 2004, to May 13, 2006.

However, it was also the last DCAU series, which began a decade earlier with the Batman: The Animated Series. That’s unfortunate, but at least we can listen to the music thanks to the release of the Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 album.

Final Thoughts on This Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 Release

As I have said above, Justice League Unlimited Soundtrack Volume 1 is a fantastic piece of TV music history. These tunes basically defined their generation,. So, I’m glad to hear them once again. Now, we can move on to the more recently released Volume 2, for which I hope to post my review soon.
