Nickelodeon and Republic Records released the Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2 Soundtrack album on July 25, 2026. The album added 24 tracks to the Airbender soundtrack collection, which had begun two years prior.

Keep reading to learn more about the album and where you can get it.

Republic Records Dropped the Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2 Soundtrack Two Years After Book 1

I don’t know what their original plans were, but it took Republic Records two years to release their follow-up to 2023’s ATLA Book 1: Water Soundtrack. But eventually, they did it, dropping the Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2 soundtrack on July 25, 2025.

Thankfully, it’s as good as the previous album. However, before I get to my review, let me break down the album’s details.

For starters, the Book 2: Earth Soundtrack album came in all the same formats as Book 1. As a result, you can get it digitally or buy it on vinyl. It also features an updated and re-recorded version of Jeremy Zuckerman’s original score. And, as before, he used a full live orchestra to produce it. Republic also released the track Secret Tunnel as a single prior to the launch.

A Review of The Updated Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2 Soundtrack

As expected, the Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2 soundtrack continues where Book 1 left off, but not before giving us another copy of the main theme. However, it’s a good rendition of the theme. So, I’ll allow it.

As for the rest of the album, you get that Zuckerman quality you expect from one of his albums. You can truly hear the power of the orchestra with each passing note. All the Asian-inspired textures are crisp and adventurous, much like the series itself. However, you also get the sense of foreboding as the war becomes center stage as the story progresses.

The updated versions of the songs are equally good. They are also full versions of the tracks. So, now, you have the whole 3-minute Secret Tunnel song to enjoy whenever you want.

Moreover, the entire soundtrack works as a standalone album. In other words, you can listen to it any time for any reason without having to explain yourself to those who don’t know about Avatar. But they are also good enough to spark those conversations, allowing you to spread the word if you so desire.

What is Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2

Now, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, let me give you a refresher on all things Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, frequently shortened to ATLA, is a traditionally animated series from Nickelodeon that ran from 2005 to 2008. The series was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko and ran for three seasons, or “books”. You can still find the episodes on Netflix, Paramount+ and on Blu-ray and DVD.

The second season, Book 2: Earth, continued the story from the previous season. Avatar Aang and his friends had successfully defended the Northern Water Tribe from the Fire Nation. And now, they were headed to the Earth Kingdom so Aang could learn Earthbending. However, they soon find themselves in a race against time to save the kingdom’s capital, Ba Sing Se, from destruction.

The season had an equally impressive soundtrack that continued the Asian-inspired sounds of the previous season. And now, thankfully, we can enjoy the music whenever we want.

Final Thoughts

Book 2 showed us what animation was capable of doing. That’s because, while it maintained the child-friendly humor of Book 1, it didn’t shy away from showing the horrors of war. So, I’m glad we get to relive those moments through its soundtrack, and in beautiful digital quality as well.

But that’s just my opinion. What’s yours?
