On May 1, 2019, Cartoon Network released Adventure Time Volume 3, basically adding an additional 50 tracks to their Adventure Time Soundtrack collection. Furthermore, they released the album digitally and as part of the vinyl box set.

Adventure Time Volume 3 Soundtrack: Emotional Mixtape from Stakes till Finale
Altogether, Adventure Time music isn’t “just” background. It’s also the jokes you hum in the kitchen. It’s also the tiny character beats that land like gut-punches. Finally, it’s the full songs that feel like they’ve always existed.
Adventure Time, Volume 3 is a perfect example, all things considered. Released May 1, 2019, it’s the third digital album in the show’s complete-series soundtrack rollout, drawing heavily from the Stakes, Islands, and Elements arcs, as well as the series’ final stretch of episodes.
Additionally, like the previous albums, Volume 3’s songs and scores were composed by Casey James Basichis and Tim Kiefer. Additionally, it features a parade of vocal performances from the cast and special guests, making it feel like a party where everyone you love shows up.
Consequently, Adventure Time Volume 3 Feels Like the Show’s Heartbeat
Through Volumes 1 and 2, Adventure Time basically proved it could do catchy songs and weirdly gorgeous interludes. Now, with Volume 3, it can finally carry real narrative weight in its music, balancing big-lore revelations with intimate character moments. This is especially true for Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, and the ever-evolving Finn/Jake dynamic.
As a result, the album ping-pongs between spooky comedy (“Stakes” vibes) and existential tenderness (“Everything Stays”), often in under a minute.
Also: don’t let the runtime fool you. A lot of tracks here are micro-cues, in other words, 20 to 60 seconds of atmosphere, a riff, a joke, a transition. That’s part of the charm, after all.
As a result, listening straight through is like flipping through a scrapbook, moving between little scene-specific snapshots and standalone full-length anthems. In other words, Volume3 isn’t “music inspired by the show”. It’s basically the show’s emotional shorthand.
From Stakes to Islands to Elements: Generally, A Playlist of Arc Energy
While the previous albums were heavy on the score, Adventure Time Volume 3 goes all in on the theme song remix.
Each arc has its own tine but powerful rendition of the “Adventure Time Main Title”. For instance, the Stakes version leans spooky and propulsive, pairing well with short tension cues like “Stakes on a Boat” and “Invisible Guest.” Then, Islands opens the bittersweet emotional floodgates you didn’t know you wanted.
Meanwhile, Elements swings back into heightened, candy-colored intensity—sometimes literally—before the late-series tracks start sounding like a goodbye.
Finally, Vol. 3 also shows off the show’s broad musical “guest list”, including:
- Olivia Olson
- Hynden Walch
- Jeremy Shada
- John DiMaggio
- Kelly Hogan
- Open Mike Eagle
- “Weird Al” Yankovic
