Pixar’s latest animated epic, Hoppers, is a wonderful relief after decades of lackluster movies from the studio. However, none of it will matter if you can’t take the enduring, memorable characters and moments with you. Luckily, they also released the Hoppers soundtrack.
Walt Disney Records released Pixar’s Hoppers soundtrack on March 6, 2026. The 26-track album features the original score by Composer Mark Mothersbaugh, as well as the song “Save the Day” from SZA. The latter was also released as a single, a few weeks earlier, on February 20.

Pixar released the Hoppers Soundtrack and “Save the Day” single.
19-year-old Medel loves animals and is passionate about protecting them. However, that passion leads her to face her mayor, who wants to transform nature into a highway. Now, she must become an animal to save the day. Luckily, her zoology professor has something that might help.
Such an epic premise requires an equally impressive soundtrack to bring it to life. Fortunately, Pixar knows the right people. As such, they hired Mark Mothersbaugh to create the film’s music, making it as vibrant and memorable as the characters.
Mothersbaugh did such a fantastic job that it left Director Daniel Chong crying on set. He didn’t do it alone either. The man brought in R&B sensation SZA to pen and perform Hoppers’ main theme song, “Save the Day”. SZA then brought in composers Ben Lovett and Rob Bisel for the finer details.
According to Chong:
“[The] music saved me during the making of this movie. It was a lifeline during the stress of the filmmaking process, a voice that comforted and inspired me through it all… When we first heard the song, some of us cried; SZA perfectly captured the heart of our main character, Mabel. ‘Save The Day’ is not just an emotional journey through Mabel’s convictions, but an anthem for a whole generation ….”
He also thanked Mothersbaugh for being the creative force behind the whole thing, ensuring the movie always had genuine heart and charm. Mothersbaugh returned the favor by noting how the film’s environmental message deeply resonated with him.
Now, we can enjoy the music along with them. That’s because Walt Disney released the Hoppers soundtrack alongside the film.
