Everyone knows about Dinsy’s Frozen. But how much do you know about the Snow Queen that spawned it? The Norwegian animated movie North offers a look into the classic tale, but does the North movie soundtrack stand up to Disney’s retelling? Luckily, you don’t have to be Norwegian to find out.

Warner Music Norway released the North movie soundtrack on November 21, 2025. The album features 22 original tracks composed by Raymond Enoksen. The album is available worldwide, even though the movie is currently only available in Norway.

The worldwide album release lets us check out the music before we see the movie. Please keep reading to learn more about the soundtrack and whether it belongs on your Christmas playlists.

Warner Music Norway Released the North Movie Soundtrack

Young Gerda and a ragtag team of misfits must free her friend Kai from the evil Snow Queen. To save him, the team must challenge the wild, frozen north of Norway to reach the Queen’s ice palace. Will Greda free her friend and make it home in time to have the happiest holiday ever?

This animated family adventure is the latest retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. Entitled North, the film brings the classic tale to life through the magical beauty of Norway’s northern countryside.

Norsk Films released the film in the Nordic countries in November 2025. However, they have no plans for an American release at this time.

Luckily, we don’t have to wait for the music. That’s because, on November 21, 2025, Warner Music Norway released the North movie soundtrack worldwide. Through it, we can hear how Norway does Christmas.

The North Movie Soundtrack Track List

The animated North movie soundtrack features 22 original tracks from composer Raymond Enoksen. Enoksen is largely unknown outside of Europe. Still, Europeans may know his previous work, such as the movies  Ice Road Rescue, Atlantic Crossing, Outlier, Hammarskjöld, and Haunted.

Review of the North Soundtrack

Finding You
“Finding You” from North

Unfortunately, the North movie soundtrack sounds very generic. Don’t get me wrong. It’s decent. It would work well in any instrumental playlist. However, it isn’t Christmas music. You can play it with any action-drama movie, and it would fit seamlessly. It doesn’t even tell a story.

Now, the soundtrack may work wonders when paired with the animation. However, I cannot recommend it on its own. You would find much better music elsewhere, especially if you’re looking for Christmas music for yourself or a holiday gathering. Only get the North movie soundtrack if you’re a film score enthusiast or an Enoksen fan.

“Finding You” is a different story. The song works well on its own, and its music video shows that it also works well with the animation. It’s a beautiful ballad about finding a lost loved one. Sure, it’s not a Christmas song, per se, but it should work well paired with any holiday playlist. You’ll find the music video below for your convenience.

Where to Listen to the North Movie Soundtrack

Warner Music Norway released the North movie soundtrack to most major digital music apps. Some notable ones include:

The movie may be a Nordic exclusive, but I included the film trailer for North below, in case that changes.
