Walt Disney and Pixar’s Incredibles 2 Soundtrack and Movie Details
A few years have passed since we last saw the Perr family, who have returned to their ordinary lives. The public still distrusts superheroes, but relations are slowly recovering, thanks in part to the government’s closure of the Superhero Relocation Program. However, that peace shatters when a new supervillain rises to threaten to undermine the superhero cause.
That is the premise behind 2018’s Incredibles 2 from Walt Disney and Pixar, continuing the action-packed adventure from its 2004 predecessor, The Incredibles. It followed the Perrs as they attempted to save the world while restoring the public’s trust in superheroes. The sequel was a critically acclaimed success, earning box office records.
The critical success of the animated superhero sequel led Walt Disney to release its soundtrack with the movie’s theatrical release on June 15, 2018. The album featured 32 tracks of original music from the movie’s composer, Michael Giacchino (Up, Ratatouille, Inside Out), who previously scored The Incredibles.
You can still purchase The Incredibles 2 Soundtrack on CD if you’d like, or stream it from your preferred music app.

My Casual Review of The Incredibles 2 Soundtrack
I only saw clips and pieces of Incredibles 2. Therefore, I must review the soundtrack on its own merits. Fortunately, the soundtrack does seem to excel in that regard.
For instance, the album opens like a noir detective story instead of a superhero one. However, it does bring in the superhero motifs rather quickly. The two genres mix well together, creating a delightful experience.
The Incredibles 2 soundtrack is quite a musical journey. I would definitely recommend the soundtrack to anyone who is an Incredibles fan or a film music enthusiast. It’s definitely a continuation of the 2004 soundtrack, providing new and old fans with the thrills they’ve always wanted. However, don’t expect a Disney musical. It’s all pure instrumental score.
It’s also a long one. While the 32 tracks vary in size, most are longer than two minutes. Plus, they seamlessly blend into each other, giving you the feeling that the music never ends.
Where to Listen to the Soundtrack
The Incredibles 2 soundtrack meets or exceeds the hype of its predecessor, making it a worthy contender for any Pixar or superhero soundtrack playlist.
Fortunately, Walt Disney Records released the album digitally and physically. You can obtain it in your preferred format. Some notable locations include:
I recommend buying the soundtrack on CD, as that would tell Walt Disney that physical media is still valued.
