It’s that time of year again. So, it makes sense that we got numerous soundtrack releases out of SDCC this past weekend. Sure, there are just promos for their films. But there are a few good ones among them, such as “A Parallel World” off DreamWorks‘ upcoming Forgotten Island Soundtrack.
The eight-member Filipino girl band BINI released the song digitally as a single during the Forgotten Island panel on July 23, 2026. So, you should be able to find it on your favorite digital music app. You can also use my collector’s guide below for suggestions.
However, before you go, you should check out the official music video below. It features clips from the film scattered between their usual stuff. So, beware of the spoilers. But it does work surprisingly well as a trailer for the film, all things considered.

“A Parallel World” Makes A Perfect Soundtrack Preview
“A Parallel World” is, of course, a song about friendship through an electronic pop lens. Thus, it naturally carries that emotional lift a film like Forgotten Island needs. That’s because it’s sentimental enough to serve as a character motif while being upbeat enough to stand on its own.
That balance matters because animated film music isn’t just background noise. It’s also how the films convey their character relationships, world-building, and emotional stakes to audiences.
The song’s also musically good with its shimmering production, hopeful chorus, and mix of English and Filipino lyrics. In other words, it gives us a taste of what the film’s all about.
What Is DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island About?
As for the film, DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island is about a pair of best friends, Jo and Raissa, who must escape a mythical island before it erases their memories. That’s because they’ll be trapped there forever if they don’t.

Final Thoughts
Overall, “A Perfect World” has what I like about film music. It’s easy to listen to on its own while giving me another reason to be interested in the film and its soundtrack.
