There’s a strange, magical place where the absurd and mundane co-exist. It’s called suburban Florida, where aliens and delivery boys hang out to the funky electronic Boys Go to Jupiter soundtrack, while drinking juice from mutant moon rock fruit.
Now, you can join the absurdity by owning the Boys Go to Jupiter Soundtrack on vinyl. The 20-track features the original music from the indie animated film, but only for a limited time. Otherwise, you’d be stuck with digital copies of the songs.
Critics praised the soundtrack for perfectly capturing the nature of the film, but I’m not so sure. Please continue reading to learn about my review of the movie’s music and how you can listen to it yourself.
Boys Go to Jupiter Soundtrack for a Holiday Adventure
Christmas in Florida is a special time of the year. It’s when aliens take young boys on a musical tour of the solar system. It’s a journey that mocks adolescence, delivery apps, and life in the state. This is the central theme behind Boys Go to Jupiter.
Beloved by critics, Boys Go to Jupiter is an independently-produced 2024 American adult animated comedy. It follows the misadventures of four young boys (Freckles, Beatbox, Peanut, and Bily 5000) as they goof off on some generic Florida beach. Their journey begins when their musical talents attract some strange admirers.
Routinely described as a deadpan musical comedy, the movie featured an appropriate soundtrack of wacky yet catchy tunes, sung by the characters themselves. Each song depicts the highs and lows of adolescence, as well as the movie’s colorful setting, which includes cheesy theme parks, mutated orange groves, and grumpy retirees.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the soundtrack either. That is because the soundtrack album was released along with the movie’s theatrical debut on August 8, 2025.

Where to Listen to the Soundtrack

The Boys Go to Jupiter Vinyl Release and Movie VODs
Movie Distributors Cartuna and Irony Point recently announced that they will be releasing the Boys Go to Jupiter soundtrack on vinyl via Wild Signal Records. The 12″ Orange Vinyl record will feature a scratch-n-sniff surface, as well as three additional tracks.
Pre-orders for the vinyl release will begin tomorrow, November 4, 2025, the same day the movie is digitally released. However, those orders will not arrive until December 1. However, unlike the film, it will be a limited-run release, with only 500 copies in circulation.
A Casual Review of the Soundtrack
Many critics praise the Boys Go to Jupiter soundtrack as an excellent and evocative collection of music, perfectly complementing the movie’s coming-of-age story. That may be so, but I had a hard time listening to it.
The music feels unpolished and grating. However, if that’s all it was, I wouldn’t have an issue with it since those feelings were intentional. Instead, my complaints seem to reflect what some critics have said about the film: a gimmicky mess. I can only describe the music as being sung by people who can’t sing at all.
Independent Animation and Soundtrack Music for All
Independent animation has the drive and ambition to tackle themes traditional studios won’t tread. However, they can also misfire horribly, but that’s the chance you take with them. If you’re ready for an indie soundtrack that works, you should check out A Long Story Short instead.
