We must wait until Halloween for the movie, but critics are already calling the Stitch Head Soundtrack super organic and eclectic. But how does it stand up to other Halloween and horror-themed music? Luckiy, we can answer that question before the movie comes out.
Air-Edel Records released the Stitch Head Soundtrack on October 17, 2025. The album features 37 tracks of original music composed by Nick Urata, as well as a few original songs.
Briarcliff Entertainment wants the film to be a new Halloween tradition, but does it measure up? To find out, I listened to the whole soundtrack. Keep reading to see if it’s worthy of your spooky playlist.
Air-Edel Records Released the Stitch Head Soundtrack
Living in a long-abandoned castle, Stitch Head must protect a mad scientist and his inventive creations from an angry mob from the nearby town of Grubber Nubbin.
This retelling of Frankenstein has everything you expect from a comedy take on the classic tale. Critics are already praising it as a new touching and visually sharp adventures about belonging and love. They even go out of their way to gush about the music, saying it “covered all the bases”.
Luckily, we don’t have to wait long to see if their evaluations were correct. While we must wait until October 29 for the film, we can test drive the soundtrack right now. That is because Air-Edel Records released the Stitch Head Soundtrack on October 17, 2025, two weeks before the premiere.
Stitch Head Soundtrack Track List
Air-Edel incorporated 37 tracks of original music onto the Stitch Head soundtrack album. They hired Nick Urata to write most of them. Urata, who also wrote the Paddington soundtrack, is no stranger to children’s comedies. However, he did not write the movie’s songs. That task was reserved for the movie’s director, Steve Hudson.

An Honest Review of the Soundtrack
The soundtrack is praiseworthy, but it doesn’t have the crazy, super-organic Roma feel Urata and Hudson claim.
Most of the soundtrack is extremely forgettable. Sure, there are moments of brilliance, but there’s nothing noteworthy. It feels like film score and nothing else. None of the tracks work on their own.
The song “Are You Ready for Monsters?” is serviceable, though. It’s the first track on the album, and it’s decent addition to any horror-themed music playlist. It has fun lyrics with an equally fun melody. It doesn’t take itself seriously, making it great for any family Halloween event.
However, the album repeats the song twice, and those remixes leave little to be desired. It might be a fun tune for family gatherings, but it got old fast. Be wary of this if you have kids who want to see the film.
Stitch Head Arrives from Germany
Based on a children’s book by Guy Bass, Stitch Head adapts the Frankenstein legend through a modern comedic lens. The offbeat, animated feature stars:

The movie premiered at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in Germany. However, Briarcliff Entertainment won’t release it to theater on October 29, 2025.

A Review of the Trailer
The trailer definitely exposes the movie’s modern Frankenstein take. The mob doesn’t attack the castle out of fear. Instead, they do it to use the monsters inside as cash cows, spurred on by a corrupt circus tycoon.
According to the trailer, the movie follows Stitch Head and his monster friends after Stitch gets lured into the circus. His friends try to rescue him, but up aggravating the town in the process, leading to numerous misunderstandings. Along the way, Stitch meets a girl who also joins the rescue mission.
The movie seems to have a very straightforward message, but it goes out of its way to spell it out. It doesn’t allow you to discover it on your own. That might work for the youngest of kids, but it might not work for its intended audience as it disrespects their intelligence.
I don’t recommend the movie if you’re an adult without kids. However, it might work for families.

The spooky season is a great time for horror-themed animated faire. From specials to dedicated features, there’s something for everyone. For instance, you should check out the Castlevania soundtrack if you want something more action oriented.
