Video game adaptations don’t always work, but the Netflix Castlevania soundtrack stands with the best of them. Fans of the original animated series should love the music, which they can now take with them on their travels.

Lakeshore Records released the Netflix Castlevania soundtrack album digitally and physically in 2017. The album features 37 tracks of original music composed by Emmy Award-winning Trevor Morris.

Lakeshore Released the Netflix Castlevania Soundtrack

Castlevania was released on Netflix on July 7, 2017, with rave reviews. The series, which adapts the video game series, follows Vampire Hunter Trevor Belmont as he tries to save a besieged city from Dracula.

Emmy Award winner Trevor Morris wrote the soundtrack, whose previous albums included Immortals, Vikings, Iron Fist, Olympus/London Has Fallen, and The Borgias.

Lakeshore Records released the Netflix Castlevania Soundtrack on the same day the series premiered, initially as a digital release. The soundtrack would also receive a physical CD and vinyl release a few weeks later.

Unfortunately, the album was the only one released for the series, despite its popularity. As such, fans only have music from the first season to enjoy.

The Netflix Castlevania Animated Series

Good video game adaptations are rare. Therefore, we must praise them when they do, and Castlevania certainly deserves it. I may not have a Netflix account, but this series is a good reason to open one. The reviews are good, and the trailer looks fantastic.

Warren Ellis developed the show for Netflix, ensuring that it would be as faithful to the Konami games as possible. Its critical success proved that he did it. Both fans and critics praised the series for its visuals, animation, and story, resulting in a near-perfect approval rating.

The show is still available on Netflix. So, you can still watch it before you venture into its currently running sequel. For your convenience, I included the show’s trailer below.
