The Gamba movie soundtrack brings the movie’s adventurous spirit to life while bridging the gap between Eastern and Western music styles. It’s perfect for any family adventure, whether you are Air Bound or not, and now, you can take it with you.

Varèse Sarabande released the Gamba movie soundtrack in 2015. The album features original music composed by Benjamin Wallfisch. There are 22 tracks which you can get digitally or physically on a CD.

Also called Air Bound, the movie is wholesome as well, but like all things, it’s not for everyone. Continue reading to watch the trailer and decide if the movie is something you should track down and add to your watch list.

Varèse Sarabande Released the Gamba Movie Soundtrack

In 2015, Japanese and American animation joined forces to bring the Japanese children’s book The Adventure of Gamba to life. Shortened to just Ganba, the movie follows a mouse on his journey to discover the ocean. A fantastic soundtrack from British film score composer and conductor Benjamin Wallfisch highlighted this journey.

Varese Sarabande released the Gamba movie soundtrack on October 9, 2015, a day before the movie’s Japanese premiere. They also released a limited-edition physical CD of the soundtrack on February 1, 2016.

You can still stream or download the soundtrack or buy the CD from most music stores.

Air Bound or Gamba: Details on the Movie and Its Trailer

I usually don’t include Japanese movies in this library since there are countless blogs about them, but this movie felt special.

A collaboration between Toei and SC Films, Gamba: Gamba to Nakama-tachi (Japanese: ガンバと仲間たち) is a reimagining of the 1975 anime series Gamba no Bouken. Both films were based on The Adventures of Gamba, a Japanese children’s book.

Originally a 2D anime, it was released in Japan as a 3D CGI film on October 10, 2015, a day after the soundtrack’s release, and in Europe as Gamba 3D. It would see its American debut in 2017 as Air Bound, although several character names were changed in the release.

You can still find the film streaming on various platforms. Because of this, I included the trailer below:

Other Book Adaptations with Soundtrack Releases

Animated book adaptations are not limited to Japanese releases. You can find them everywhere, primarily if they are based on children’s books. If you are on the hunt for one, you should try out The Sisters Grimm while browsing the rest of this library.
