Aztec Batman Soundtrack Homages 1989 Batman

Batman has seen everything. The world’s greatest detective trained and studied everything the DC multiverse has to offer. Now, he’s going back to ancient Mexico to hang out with the Aztecs in Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires. The movie’s soundtrack also continues with the Aztec aesthetic.

Composer Ego Plum had free rein over the Aztec Batman soundtrack. The movie wasn’t Plum’s first animated movie soundtrack, and it shows. He combined Danny Elfman’s original score for the 1989 Batman film with traditional Mexican sound. The result was a unique soundtrack fitting for the Batman franchise.

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires – An Interesting Take on Batman

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires reimagines the Batman origin story as an Aztec legend. The movie follows a young Aztec boy whose parents died in a skirmish with Spanish conquistadors.

Juan Jose Meza-Leon directed the film, which stars:

Warner Bros. released the movie to Mexican theaters on September 18, 2025, and made it available everywhere as a VOD the following day. It was released physically on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 23, 2025. You will find the trailer below.
