When life’s like a hurricane, it’s time to head over to Duckburg. However, you could bring the original DuckTales soundtrack with you. While the classic theme song was always available, the rest of the soundtrack seemed lost to time, until now.

That’s because Intrada Records worked with Walt Disney to bring back the original DuckTales soundtrack as a physical 2-CD album. The long-awaited album features over 100 minutes of the original score composed by Ron Jones and the iconic themes from Mark Mueller.

The album is a treasure that DuckTales fans and collectors wanted for decades. So, you should keep reading to learn which tracks made it on the album.

Intrada Records Brought Back the Classic Original DuckTales Soundtrack

Some cartoon soundtracks are timeless, offering the same dramatic flair as any live-action adventure. The original DuckTales soundtrack was one of them. Without it, we wouldn’t remember the show’s charm and delightful characters.

Through its adventurous mix of symphonic and electronic sound, the soundtrack brought Scrouge McDuck and his nephews to life. Because of that, their hopes and dreams felt real and relatable.

However, Walt Disney released the original 1980s DuckTales during a time when television soundtracks were rare, especially for animation. So, fans couldn’t own their favorite tracks or listen to them wherever they wanted. Sure, there were occasional Disney music compilations, but they rarely included more than the theme song.

Now, the long-awaited original DuckTales soundtrack is here. On January 27, 2026, Walt Disney partnered with Intrada Records to release the full soundtrack from the series that ran from 1987 to 1990.

The Original DuckTales Soundtrack Album Track List and Details

The DuckTales Original 1980s Television Soundtrack album features over 100 minutes of original music written and produced by Ron Jones and Mark Mueler. However, you won’t find it on any streaming service. That’s because you can only get it in physical form as a two-CD set.

Each CD features 39 tracks that were curated from Jones’s personal archive to maximize nostalgia and the spirit of the original series. Intrada even went out of their way to arrange the music into suites inspired by the show’s most memorable episodes and story arcs.

As such, this album is a celebration of all things DuckTales, from its legacy to the fan community that kept it alive all these years. Through it, we can relive our memories of walking around the bustling streets of Duckburg or adventuring with Scrooge and his family.

Final Thoughts on the New Original DuckTales Soundtrack Album

There are some things you don’t expect to see in your lifetime. Intrada’s release of the original DuckTales soundtrack is one of them. It’s definitely a dream come true, allowing us to enjoy more than just the classic DuckTales theme song. Plus, the album is a collector’s dream for its colorful cover art and in-depth liner notes.

I wish more classic soundtracks would get this treatment. I also want these releases to last longer than they do. For instance, I hope this new DuckTales album will stay around longer than the Jonny Quest one we got a few years ago. Having these tracks up for streaming would be nice too.
